Nuggets' Nikola Jokic makes history with 19 assists in victory over Pacers

Nikola Jokic, aged 30, achieved a personal best of 19 assists during the Denver Nuggets' victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday evening.
This remarkable total marks the highest number of assists recorded by a center in a single game since Wilt Chamberlain in 1968. Jokic fell just three assists short of breaking the all-time record of 21 assists for centers, also held by Chamberlain.
When examining the assist totals for centers in a game, it is noteworthy that only Jokic and Chamberlain have reached such heights.
In addition to his 19 assists, Jokic contributed 18 points on 9-of-14 shooting (without any free throws), along with nine rebounds, three steals, and one block. This performance makes him the first player in NBA history to achieve such a stat line in a single game.
The Serbian star also matched Jamal Murray for the highest plus-minus rating of the game at +17, contributing to their 125-116 victory.
Throughout his career, Jokic has recorded 16 triple-doubles during his first MVP season, 19 in his second, and 25 in his third. He requires just one more game to establish a new personal best.
Jokic is making a strong case for MVP as the Nuggets have reclaimed second place in the Western Conference with a record of 38-20. They have won 10 of their last 11 games and are set to face Giannis and the Bucks in Milwaukee on February 27th.
