Olympiacos 2-0 Aston Villa (6-2 agg): Hosts ease past Villans to advance to Europa Conference League Final

Olympiacos has secured their spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) final by defeating Aston Villa with a 2-0 victory on the night and a convincing 6-2 win on aggregate. They will now face Fiorentina, last year's finalists, in the highly anticipated final match.
In prime position to make their inaugural appearance in a European final after emerging as 4-2 victors from the first leg, Olympiacos swiftly took control upon returning to their familiar Greek territory. Within just two minutes, Chiquinho narrowly missed the target, showcasing the hosts' early dominance.
Building on their strong start, Olympiacos wasted no time in capitalizing on their home advantage. Ayoub El Kaabi, who had previously scored a hat-trick at Villa Park, once again found the back of the net with a skillfully executed finish, courtesy of Quini's perfectly placed assist.
This goal further solidified Olympiacos' position, leaving Aston Villa in need of three goals to have any hope of reaching their first non-domestic final since their European Cup triumph in 1982.
Despite their efforts, Villa had to wait until the 25th minute to truly test Olympiacos' goalkeeper, Konstantinos Tzolakis, as Douglas Luiz's ambitious long-range attempt was comfortably saved.
As half-time approached, Emiliano Martínez denied Konstantinos Fortounis, leaving José Luis Mendilibar's side with a significant advantage heading into the break.
With only two goals scored in their previous three away matches in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Villa manager Unai Emery decided to introduce Jhon Durán from the bench just before the hour-mark.
Durán, who has been more prolific in European competitions than in the Premier League this season, was brought on with the hope of making a game-changing impact.
Villa's European journey comes to a close, with injuries and fatigue taking a toll on the squad, resulting in three consecutive losses.
Despite the defeat, Olympiacos' historic win mirrors Panathinaikos' achievement over fifty years ago, becoming the second Greek club to reach the final of a major European competition.
On the other hand, Villa still has control over their fate of competing in the UEFA Champions League next season, thanks to their strong performance in domestic matches.
