Palmeiras clinch second consecutive Brasileirao

Following a 1-1 draw against Cruzeiro, Verdao emerged as champions, securing the title with a two-point lead over Gremio led by Luis Suarez. Botafogo, on the other hand, finished in 5th place, six points behind the champions.
In Round 31, Botafogo faced Palmeiras and held a 3-1 lead, even having a penalty kick opportunity in the 83rd minute to seal the victory.
However, Weverton's save turned the tide, and led by the outstanding performance of Endrick, Palmeiras managed to snatch a 4-3 win during stoppage time.
Palmeiras secured their 12th league title in club history, with coach Abel Ferreira adding his ninth trophy in just three years of managing the team.
Meanwhile, Santos suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Fortaleza, resulting in their first-ever relegation in the club's 111-year history. Despite being two points clear of the relegation zone, they were overtaken by Vasco, led by Dimitri Payet, and Bahia in the final moments.
The last round also marked Luis Suarez's final game in his one-year stint in Brazil. The Uruguayan legend scored two goals in Gremio's 3-2 victory against Fluminense, finishing the league campaign as the second-highest scorer with 17 goals.
