Paris 2024: World number one Sinner withdraws from Paris Olympics due to illness

Sinner shared the news of his withdrawal from the Games on his social media account.
In a post on X, Sinner expressed his disappointment, stating, "I am saddened to inform you that unfortunately,
I will not be able to participate in the Paris Olympic Games." He explained that after a week of clay training, he began to feel unwell and was later diagnosed with tonsillitis, which led to the doctor advising him against playing.

Novak Djokovic, the world number two and 24-time Grand Slam champion, will be the top seed in the men's singles draw for the Olympics. The draw for the tournament will be conducted on Thursday.
Several tennis players, including Marketa Vondrousova and Hubert Hurkacz, have withdrawn from the competition. Other notable absences from the Games' tennis event include Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur, Emma Raducanu, and Ben Shelton.
