Paris Olympics in same bracket as Grand Slams - Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff (20) has been unable to participate in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 due to testing positive for COVID. However, she expresses her desire to compete in the Paris Games, stating that winning a medal would hold the same significance as a Grand Slam victory for her this year.
Gauff eagerly anticipates her debut at the Games, which will commence on July 27 at Roland Garros, the same venue where she will also strive for a second Grand Slam title during the upcoming French Open later this month.
"The Olympics hold great importance to me. I would consider it on par with the Grand Slams," Gauff shared with reporters at the Italian Open. "I don't rank it higher or lower simply because it will be my first time participating. This is a new experience for me.
"Of course, I always aim to perform well and strive for a medal. However, the preparation will be intriguing as I have never transitioned from grass to clay before.
"I don't want to burden myself with excessive pressure because I truly want to fully immerse myself in the entire experience. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to partake in it multiple times throughout my life. I will cherish it as a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence."
Gauff's immediate focus is directed towards preparing for the French Open, commencing on May 26. The world number three emphasizes the importance of enhancing her serve, as it could prove pivotal in securing another Grand Slam title following her triumph at the U.S. Open last year.
"For me, the key is to serve better than I did last week," Gauff explained. "I believe the other aspects of my game are improving. If I can successfully address this, it will position me favorably for a successful Roland Garros."
