Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 Olympique de Marseille: PSG triumph in Le Classique to extend Ligue 1 lead to 19 points

Paris Saint-Germain secured a 3-1 triumph against Olympique de Marseille, furthering their quest for the Ligue 1 championship and celebrating their fifth straight victory in Le Classique.
The Parisians, fresh from a historic outing at Anfield, faced a challenging return to domestic competition against their longstanding rivals.
In a fiercely contested opening ten minutes, Amine Gouiri's free-kick was saved, while Nuno Mendes had his attempts thwarted by Geoffrey Kondogbia and Geronimo Rulli.
Ousmane Dembele, in exceptional form, capitalized on a pass from Fabian Ruiz, maneuvered away from Rulli, and scored to open the match, bringing his remarkable tally to 25 goals in his last 20 appearances across all competitions.
Les Olympiens pressed forward in search of an equalizer, with Adrien Rabiot heading wide and Bilal Nadir winning a free-kick in a threatening position, only to see his shot blocked by the wall. Gouiri's follow-up was deflected wide by Vitinha.
Gianluigi Donnarumma then saved an attempt from Valentin Rongier, while Gouiri's subsequent effort was also deflected wide following a careless pass from Achraf Hakimi.
After successfully defending against Marseille's advances, PSG struck again in the 42nd minute when Fabian Ruiz broke through and set up Mendes, who slid the ball past Rulli.
Shortly after Dembele shot over from a cutback by Desire Doue, Marseille found renewed hope as Rabiot rounded Donnarumma and selflessly assisted Gouiri for the equalizer.
Dembele came close to restoring PSG's lead when his shot in the 60th minute was deflected onto the post by Luiz Felipe, and Rulli quickly intervened to deny Warren Zaire-Emery shortly thereafter.
In an attempt to bolster his team's performance, Roberto De Zerbi made three substitutions, but Pol Lirola inadvertently turned Hakimi's cross into his own net in the 76th minute.
The visitors were unable to mount a comeback, with Quentin Merlin's attempt going just wide. As a result, PSG secured their seventh consecutive victory in Ligue 1, increasing their lead over second-placed Marseille to 19 points.
Compounding the difficulties for Les Olympiens, this marked their third loss in the last four matches, following a period in which they had only lost one of their previous 11 league games.
