Paris Saint-Germain 7-0 Stade Brestois 29 (10-0 agg): PSG smash Brest to storm into Champions League last 16

Paris Saint-Germain delivered a historic performance in the Champions League, dismantling Brest 7-0 in their knockout phase playoff second leg on Wednesday to complete a dominant 10-0 aggregate victory. The emphatic win secured PSG’s spot in the last 16, where they will face either Liverpool or Barcelona.

The result marked PSG’s most commanding triumph in European competition, while Brest endured a nightmare end to their maiden Champions League campaign, suffering the heaviest defeat by a French club in the tournament’s history.

After securing a comfortable 3-0 win in the first leg, PSG controlled the game from the outset. Brest, showing little urgency, struggled to contain the Ligue 1 leaders, who steadily built momentum.

Bradley Barcola opened the scoring in the 20th minute, calmly finishing a well-timed through ball. Just before halftime, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead with his first Champions League goal for PSG, stretching to tap in from a tight angle.

The floodgates opened in the second half. Vitinha struck just before the hour mark, followed by goals from Desire Doue, Nuno Mendes, and Goncalo Ramos. The humiliation was sealed in the 86th minute when Senny Mayulu became the seventh different PSG player to score, setting a new Champions League record for most individual scorers in a single match.

PSG, backed by Qatari ownership, are determined to claim their first Champions League title, having dominated French football with 10 league titles in the last 12 seasons. “We are showing that everything is possible. Our goal is to win the Champions League. We will do everything in our power to do it,” said Kvaratskhelia.

The victory extended PSG’s unbeaten streak against Brest to 32 matches, a run dating back to 1985. With confidence soaring, the Parisian giants now turn their focus to the next stage, where they will face a true test against one of Europe’s elite clubs.
