Patton Kizzire ends PGA Tour title drought with triumph at Silverado

Patton Kizzire, aged 38, achieved a remarkable victory at the US PGA Tour Procore Championship on Sunday, concluding the final round with an eagle and three birdies for a score of 70.

This triumph marks his first title in over six years. "It feels so good," expressed the American golfer, who secured his third title on tour, his first since the 2018 Sony Open.

"I have put in significant effort and have not met my potential for quite some time. It is gratifying to be back to my game."

Kizzire entered the final round with a four-shot lead at Silverado Resort in Napa, California, and his two-under performance resulted in a five-shot win over David Lipsky.

Having missed the cut in his previous two tournaments and failing to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs, which concluded with the Tour Championship last month, Kizzire's victory is particularly significant.

He made an eagle from the greenside rough at the par-five fifth hole but encountered bogeys on the ninth and eleventh holes, allowing Lipsky to close the gap.

Kizzire regained his advantage with birdies on the 12th, 13th, and 15th holes, while Lipsky finished with a one-under par 71, totaling 273 for the tournament.

"David played exceptionally well," Kizzire acknowledged. "He put some pressure on me, but I maintained my discipline.

"I have worked diligently, and to perform as I did—pulling away from the competition and maintaining my momentum—was incredibly enjoyable."
