The defeat to Brentford disrupted Chelsea's modest resurgence and fueled the disappointment of the loyal supporters. Another setback at Stamford Bridge against Championship side Blackburn could intensify the pressure on Pochettino. However, the manager is determined to rally the fan base around the team.
Pochettino addressed reporters on Tuesday, saying, "It's challenging to control emotions, but it's a natural part of the game." He empathized with fans who yearn for victory and feel frustrated during difficult periods. His message to the Chelsea faithful is clear: "Believe and trust in us. Ultimately, it's all part of the process."
Pochettino took over as Chelsea's new manager in late May, tasked with revitalizing the team after a disappointing previous season. However, the team has struggled with injuries and currently sits 11th in the Premier League, with only one home league victory this season.
"When you are trying to create something new and rebuild, it's a process that involves ups and downs," Pochettino explained. "The circumstances may not be ideal for rapid progress, but that's the natural course."
Defining a successful campaign for Chelsea remains challenging, according to the former Paris Saint-Germain coach. Nevertheless, Pochettino recognizes the importance of getting back on track, especially with demanding Premier League fixtures against Tottenham and Manchester City on the horizon.
"The most crucial thing is taking it one step at a time, starting with our next match," Pochettino emphasized. "Advancing in the League Cup and regaining momentum is our priority."
