PSG thrash Monaco to consolidate top spot

Paris St Germain put on a show against AS Monaco on Friday, winning 5-2 with five different scorers as the hosts maintained their lead in Ligue 1.

Goncalo Ramos, Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, and Randal Kolo Muani scored for PSG, while Takumi Minamino and Folarin Balogun scored for Monaco.

Luis Enrique's team now has 30 points, four more than second-placed Nice, who play Toulouse on Sunday. Monaco is in third place with 24 points.

PSG took the lead in the 18th minute when Ramos converted a rebound from Monaco goalkeeper Philipp Kohn, but Minamino equalized four minutes later after keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made a mistake.

Donnarumma redeemed himself by denying Minamino another goal as the Japanese midfielder missed more chances before the break and early in the second half.

Mbappe restored PSG's lead with a 39th-minute penalty, extending his Ligue 1 scoring to 14 goals this season.

Dembele scored his first goal of the season to extend PSG's lead 20 minutes from time, before Vitinha scored two minutes later with a superb shot from the edge of the box.

In the 75th minute, Balogun pulled one back after a fine through ball from Minamino, but Kolo Muani completed the rout in stoppage time.
