PSG win Coupe de France as treble dream lives on

First-half goals from Bradley Barcola and Achraf Hakimi sealed the victory, earning PSG their second domestic title this season and setting the stage for a shot at UEFA Champions League glory.

The result brings PSG within touching distance of joining the elite group of clubs to win a continental treble i.e. domestic league, domestic cup, and the UEFA Champions League — with only Inter Milan standing in their way in the final set for May 31 in Munich.

Bradley Barcola shines as PSG dominate French Cup final

Barcola wasted no time asserting PSG’s superiority, opening the scoring in the 16th minute with a precise low drive before tapping in his second just three minutes later. Hakimi capped a blistering first half by turning in a cross at the back post to make it 3-0.

Though Ousmane Dembélé threatened to add a fourth in the second half, PSG controlled the tempo and comfortably saw out the match to clinch their 15th French Cup title.

Willian Pacho lifts third trophy of the season, eyes Champions League Milestone

The night also marked another milestone for Willian Pacho, who has rapidly become one of PSG’s standout performers since his arrival from Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2024. The 23-year-old Ecuadorian defender played a crucial 60 minutes in the final, contributing significantly to PSG’s clean sheet before being subbed off to rest for the Champions League final.

Pacho has now won three major trophies in his debut season: the French Super Cup, Ligue 1, and now the French Cup — a rare domestic treble few foreign players have achieved in such a short time.

Should PSG defeat Inter Milan next Saturday, Pacho would become the first Ecuadorian player to win the UEFA Champions League, surpassing the record set by Antonio Valencia, who reached the final with Manchester United in 2011.

Luis Enrique targets second career treble

With the win, Luis Enrique continues to etch his name into football history. Having already won a treble with Barcelona in 2015, the Spanish tactician could join Pep Guardiola as the only managers to win two European trebles — a feat that would place PSG among football’s immortals.

PSG's Treble Path So Far:

  • Ligue 1 Champions (April 2025)
  • French Cup Winners (May 2025)
  • UEFA Champions League Final vs Inter Milan (May 31, 2025)
