Ranieri travels to London for talks with the Friedkins fueling speculation about a potential return

The search for the next coach of the Giallorossi is progressing. Roma's management is currently assessing a range of candidates.

Following the speculation surrounding Montella, Claudio Ranieri's name has emerged as a potential option. The former Cagliari coach has prior experience with the Capitoline team and is familiar with the club's environment.

As time passes, the announcement regarding the new Roma coach remains pending. Discussions are ongoing in London, where Claudio Ranieri has traveled in the evening, accompanied by his agent, Pietro Chiodi.

At this juncture, 'Sir Claudio' appears to be the leading candidate for the Giallorossi position, especially after reports from Turkey dismissed the likelihood of Vincenzo Montella departing from the national team, with which he is currently involved in the Nations League.

Meanwhile, both the team and supporters are left in uncertainty, as nearly 72 hours have elapsed since Ivan Juric's dismissal, and the future of Roma remains unclear. Ranieri's trip to London suggests a potential resolution, with an announcement anticipated within the next 24 hours.

Ranieri is a figure of interest to the Friedkin family, while the players have seen their training schedule, originally set for tomorrow, postponed to Thursday.

Consequently, Pellegrini and his teammates will have an additional day off as they await news of their new coach, and it is possible that the schedule may change once more.

However, as previously noted, time is of the essence, and the Friedkins must expedite their decision regarding the new coach. In recent hours, their focus has shifted towards securing an Italian candidate, with Vincenzo Montella's stock rising before Ranieri's emergence as the frontrunner. Montella previously managed Roma for a brief period, taking over from Ranieri in February 2011, prior to the ownership transition from Sensi to Di Benedetto.

The circumstances surrounding 'Aeroplanino', who is currently the coach of the Turkish national team, are distinct. While it is accurate that Vincenzo is open to the possibility of returning, he would need to pay a release fee equivalent to approximately six months of salary, amounting to around one million euros.
