Ravens Edge Commanders as Buccaneers Dominate Saints in NFL Showdown

Lamar Jackson, aged 27, passed for 323 yards and a touchdown, leading the Baltimore Ravens to a 30-23 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday in a clash between the NFL's highest-scoring teams.
Derrick Henry, the NFL's rushing leader, carried the ball 24 times for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns, while Zay Flowers recorded 132 yards on nine receptions, all achieved in the first half, setting a franchise record for the Ravens.
"My focus was on providing opportunities for my teammates, evading defenders, and gaining yards after the catch," Jackson remarked. "Some players were able to get open due to the strategies we implemented. It was truly a collective team effort."
The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player completed 20 of 26 passes and rushed 11 times for 40 yards, orchestrating two scoring drives that exceeded 90 yards, marking the Ravens' fourth consecutive win following an initial 0-2 record.
"We are taking responsibility," Jackson stated. "We made numerous errors in the first two games. That’s the nature of the NFL—perfection is unattainable. However, we have been focused on reducing our mistakes and scoring points, which we have successfully accomplished."
Washington's rookie sensation, Jayden Daniels, completed 24 of 35 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing six times for 22 yards against one of the league's top run defenses.
"He's an exceptional player," Jackson commented on Daniels. "This is just his sixth game in the league during his rookie season. The potential for him is immense."
Baltimore initially took a 10-3 lead with Henry's 3-yard touchdown run, concluding a nine-play, 93-yard drive. Washington responded with a 7-yard touchdown pass from Daniels to Terry McLaurin, but the Ravens quickly countered with Jackson's 13-yard touchdown pass to Mark Andrews, regaining a 17-10 lead.
The Ravens extended their advantage with a 7-yard touchdown run by Henry, capping a 94-yard drive. Daniels later connected with McLaurin for a 6-yard touchdown pass with 12:12 left in the game, but Justin Tucker added his third field goal, a 39-yarder, increasing the Ravens' lead to 30-20 with 6:18 remaining. Austin Seibert then responded with a 49-yard field goal, but the Commanders were unable to narrow the gap further.
