Real Madrid 4-1 Las Palmas: Mbappe stars as Los Blancos complete comebaicck victory over Los Amarillos

Kylian Mbappe delivered a sensational performance, scoring twice to inspire Real Madrid’s 4-1 comeback victory against Las Palmas on Sunday. The win propelled the reigning champions to the top of the LaLiga standings, overtaking Atletico Madrid, who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Leganes on Saturday. Real now lead the table with 46 points, two ahead of Atletico an
Las Palmas stunned the Santiago Bernabéu crowd just 25 seconds into the game as Fabio Silva converted a low cross from Sandro Ramirez to give the visitors an early lead. However, Real Madrid quickly responded, piling on the pressure and earning a penalty in the 18th minute after Rodrygo was fouled in the box. Mbappe stepped up confidently and slotted home the equalizer.
Without the suspended Vinicius Jr., Mbappe took charge of Real’s attacking duties, delivering one of his finest displays since joining from Paris Saint-Germain last year. His dynamic interplay with Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo kept Las Palmas on the back foot, while goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen made several key saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
Mbappe’s relentless energy and creativity paid off again in the 33rd minute. After a powerful shot of his was parried by Cillessen, Lucas Vazquez capitalized on the rebound, setting up Brahim Diaz for an easy finish into an empty net.
Just three minutes later, Mbappe showcased his class with a first-time strike into the top corner from a precise Rodrygo cross, extending Real’s lead. Rodrygo then sealed the victory in the 57th minute with a clinical finish on a lightning-fast counterattack.
Las Palmas’ troubles deepened in the 64th minute when substitute Benito Ramirez was sent off with a straight red card for a reckless studs-up challenge on Lucas Vazquez.
Real Madrid continued to dominate but saw goals from Mbappe, Bellingham, and Federico Valverde disallowed by VAR for offside in the buildup. Despite the late frustrations, the victory was comprehensive.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, Mbappe expressed his joy:
"It was an important win for us because we took advantage of what happened to Atletico and Barcelona on Saturday. We wanted to win, and we won. To concede an early goal is difficult, but the team's reaction was brilliant. We played on attack, we looked for space, we scored a lot of goals. I think all the fans enjoyed the game because we played well, and now we are leaders."
The French superstar also reflected on his time at Real Madrid:
"It's a dream to play for Real and to listen to the fans chant my name. I'm very happy because I've adapted to the team, and I'm playing the way I want to play and enjoying it again."
With this victory, Real Madrid reclaim their spot at the top of LaLiga and set their sights on maintaining their form in a tightly contested title race.
