Real Sociedad 0-2 Atletico Madrid: A goal in either half sees Los Colchoneros end season with a win and in fourth

Atletico Madrid ended their LaLiga season with a 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday, thanks to a first-half strike by Brazilian winger Samuel Lino and a late tap-in from Reinildo Mandava.

Atletico, who had already secured fourth place and a spot in next season's Champions League, finished the season with 76 points, 11 more than Athletic Bilbao in fifth.

Real Sociedad, who are in sixth place, have qualified for the Europa League.

Real Madrid lead the standings with 94 points, 12 points ahead of second-placed Barcelona and 13 ahead of Girona in third.

Atletico took the lead in the ninth minute when Marcos Llorente raced up the right wing and delivered a low cross to Lino at the far post, who finished neatly past Alex Remiro.

Remiro and Atletico's keeper Jan Oblak made several saves, and Atletico went down to ten men in the 92nd minute after Saul Niguez received his second yellow card.

In the final move of the game, Atletico secured three points with a counterattack led by Alvaro Morata, who delivered a perfectly placed cross for substitute Reinildo to tap in the empty net.
