Real Valladolid promoted back to LaLiga after win over Villarreal B

Brazilian legend Ronaldo's Real Valladolid secured their promotion back to LaLiga with a dramatic 3-2 win against Villarreal B on Sunday.

Ronaldo, the former Selecao star, holds a majority stake in Valladolid, who managed to bounce back to the top flight after being relegated to the second division in 2023.

In a thrilling match, Valladolid was trailing 2-1 in stoppage time when Victor Meseguer scored to equalize. Moments later, Mamadou Sylla netted a penalty, sealing their return to LaLiga in the penultimate round of the season.

Leganes, currently second, are also in a strong position to clinch promotion alongside Valladolid. They only need a draw against Elche next weekend to stay ahead of third-placed Eibar.
