Rozier leads Hornets to 129-128 victory over Nets

On Thursday night, Terry Rozier showcased an outstanding performance, amassing an impressive 37 points and contributing 13 assists, leading the short-handed Charlotte Hornets to a narrow 129-128 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Despite missing key players LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, the Hornets managed to break a two-game losing streak.

In addition to Rozier's stellar performance, Miles Bridges added 23 points, Gordon Hayward contributed 22, and Mark Williams recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Rozier, expressing confidence in his teammates, highlighted the collective effort: "Everybody stepped up tremendously. Everybody chipped in and did a great job."

Brooklyn's Cam Thomas returned from a sprained ankle, scoring 26 points, while Mikal Bridges contributed 22 points and nine rebounds. However, the Nets' three-game winning streak came to an end.

The game saw a high-scoring affair with both teams combining for 98 made field goals out of 196 attempts. Notably, the Hornets excelled from beyond the arc, shooting at an impressive 58.3%, led by Rozier and Bryce McGowens.

Charlotte's strong fourth-quarter defense, outscoring the Nets 27-22, played a pivotal role in securing the victory. Hornets coach Steve Clifford emphasized the significance of their defensive effort: "It’s a great win. The most important thing is we fought hard and made plays at the end of the game."

Despite Rozier missing a crucial mid-range jumper in the final seconds, the Nets couldn't capitalize on the opportunity as Cam Johnson missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer.

Looking ahead, the Hornets are set to host Minnesota on Saturday, while the Nets will host Orlando. The game showcased individual brilliance, collective efforts, and a thrilling contest that ultimately favored the Hornets, marking a significant win despite the absence of key players.
