Ruben Amorim expresses satisfaction with Manchester United's 'pragmatic' win over Everton

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his satisfaction following the team's 4-0 victory over Everton on Sunday.
Both Josh Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford contributed two goals each during the match.
In his post-match comments, Amorim remarked, "The outcome was favorable, yet we approached the game with pragmatism. While it may not have been aesthetically pleasing, we executed our primary objective, which is to secure a win.
"There is a sense that we have much work ahead of us. In the initial minutes, we performed adequately, but then Everton took control of the match. However, we scored at crucial moments, which shifted the momentum in our favor.
"It is essential to look beyond the final score. We must consider how we achieved that result. Prior to the match, we recognized the areas needing improvement, but it is certainly more advantageous to build on victories. Our focus should be on enhancing our performance rather than solely on the outcome.
"During the game, one can sense the fluctuations in our performance levels. It is not a consistent display of excellence; rather, it resembles a rollercoaster ride. We experience phases of strong play, interspersed with periods where we must endure challenges.
"We encountered similar situations in the Europa League. We require time for training and development. Working with victories is indeed preferable."
Regarding Zirkzee, he commented, "His performance is vital for the player. He executed his role exceptionally well, which will bolster his confidence. We had a strategy in mind, but my decision to select him was not a sudden revelation; we simply needed fresh legs. The players have been immensely supportive, and I commend them for their efforts."
On Rashford's performance, Amorim added, "A new coach often brings about changes, yet there remains significant room for improvement. He is capable of achieving much more. We all need to enhance our contributions. Nevertheless, the players delivered an impressive performance."
