Salernitana 1-2 AS Roma: I Giallorossi defeat rock-bottom hosts to continue De Rossi's good start as manager

I Giallorossi had a golden opportunity to strengthen their top-four push with a visit to struggling Salernitana, but they failed to impress in the first half.
Roma couldn't manage a single shot on target, with Lorenzo Pellegrini's wayward free-kick being their closest attempt to trouble Guillermo Ochoa in goal.
On the other hand, Rui Patricio had a busier time at the opposite end, making a strong save to deny Flavius Daniliuc's low drive and dealing with a tamer effort from Loum Tchaouna.
Tensions rose before halftime, with Niccolo Pierozzi and Pellegrini receiving yellow cards for late challenges on Bryan Cristante and Junior Sambia respectively. It was the most fight Roma had shown in the game so far.
However, shortly after the restart, Roma were given a chance to take the lead. Gianluca Mancini seemed to be pulling back Salernitana's Giulio Maggiore in the penalty area, and the referee awarded a penalty. Paulo Dybala converted the spot-kick, giving Roma an arguably undeserved advantage.
In the middle of the second half, Roma doubled their lead with their second shot on target. Pellegrini tapped in Rick Karsdorp's cross to find the back of the net. Despite their lackluster performance, Roma somehow found themselves in control with a two-goal lead.
