Sarina Wiegman extends contract to 2027

The Football Association announced on Tuesday that Sarina Wiegman (54) has agreed to an extension of her contract as the coach of the England women's team. She will continue to lead the team for the upcoming 2027 Women's World Cup.
Wiegman, who assumed control in September 2021, guided the team to their inaugural major trophy at the 2022 European Championship and to the final of the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand last year, where they finished as runners-up to Spain.
The Dutchwoman's new agreement will also entail her leading the team in their defense of the Euros title in 2025.
"I am extremely delighted to have the opportunity to guide England until 2027 after an incredible two and a half years," Wiegman expressed.
"Looking ahead, we have unfinished business and I am aware that we are capable of achieving even more, although it won't be easy. The competition at the highest level of our sport is intensifying.
"I embrace this opportunity and am eagerly anticipating the EURO qualifiers, followed by the World Cup."
The qualification process for the 2025 Euros will commence in April.
"We are thrilled that Sarina has agreed to extend her tenure with us as we enter another significant phase of international football," stated FA CEO Mark Bullingham.
"She has accomplished so much through her exceptional coaching and leadership, and there is still more to come.
"Our objective with the England teams is to consistently be a competitive force in major tournaments, and Sarina has played a pivotal role in helping us achieve that, building upon several years of positive progress."
