Scottie Barnes leads the way as Raptors end Suns' win streak with 112-105 victory

In Wednesday night showdown, Scottie Barnes showcased his prowess by delivering a staggering 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Toronto Raptors to a triumphant 112-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns. Pascal Siakam contributed significantly with 22 points, snapping the Suns' impressive seven-game winning streak.

Despite the Suns' efforts, Kevin Durant, who returned after missing two games due to a sore foot, managed to score 11 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter. However, his shooting performance included 11 successful attempts out of 30, with a 2 for 8 record from beyond the arc. Devin Booker, another star for Phoenix, struggled with only eight points, aggravated by a foot injury sustained in the second half.

Durant's remarkable scoring streak of 30 or more points in six consecutive games persisted, making him the NBA's current leader in this category. Booker, hampered by injury, expressed uncertainty about his availability for the upcoming game against the Denver Nuggets.

Jusuf Nurkic provided a solid performance for the Suns with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but the team faltered in 3-point shooting, making only 7 of 26 attempts. Despite outscoring Toronto 28-14 in second-chance points, Phoenix couldn't secure a win.

Raptors' coach Darko Rajakovic praised Scottie Barnes, emphasizing his winning mentality and energy that uplifted the entire team. Despite the Raptors' late-night arrival in Toronto after a game in Brooklyn, they displayed resilience, securing a crucial victory.

Looking ahead, the Suns are set to host the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, on Friday night, while the Raptors will face the New York Knicks in their next matchup on the same evening.
