Serie A Femminile: Roma pull away at the top of the table with 3-1 win away at Juventus

The top-of-the-table clash between Roma and Juventus on Sunday ended in a 3-1 win for the Giallorosse in Biella.
Goals from Manuela Giugliano, Emilie Haavi and Evelyne Viens secured all three points for Alessandro Spugna’s side, who now leads the table by three points.
Roma made a strong start and could have gone ahead in the fifth minute when Viens was put through on goal, but her effort was well saved by Pauline Peyraud-Magnin.
Giugliano hit the crossbar with a free kick in the 22nd minute. She put Roma ahead five minutes later. After some good work on the right, Haavi delivered a cross that Juventus failed to clear, allowing Giugliano to score after a poor clearance.
Juventus had opportunities to equalize before halftime but failed to capitalize. Lineth Beerensteyn blazed over from close range after Cristiana Girelli headed narrowly wide.
Haavi doubled Roma's lead five minutes into the second half, pouncing on a square pass and slotting the ball underneath Peyraud-Magnin.
Seven minutes later, the match was over. Valentina Giacinti wrestled the ball away from Cecillia Salvai, allowing Viens to race through and fire into the bottom corner.
Julia Grosso scored a consolation goal for Juventus at the hour mark to round up the scoring after a long ball into the box found its way to her.
