Shami's World Cup Impact against New Zealand

Mohammed Shami, delivered a match-winning performance in his debut appearance at the 50-over World Cup.
Despite being on the bench for India's first four matches, Shami had no complaints about it.
His opportunity arose when Hardik Pandya, sustained an ankle injury, necessitating Shami's return.
Shami's entry into the tournament was impactful, as he claimed a wicket with his very first delivery.
He came close to achieving a hat-trick by dismissing Mitchell Santner and Matt Henry with consecutive deliveries.
Although he narrowly missed a second ODI World Cup hat-trick, Shami's bowling figures of 5-54 played a crucial role in India's effort to bowl out New Zealand for 273.
This set the stage for India's four-wicket victory with two overs to spare, earning Shami the player-of-the-match award.
Reflecting on his performance, Shami stated, "Obviously, the start was important, and getting a wicket on the first ball gave me a lot of confidence." He emphasized his contentment with watching Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj share the pace-bowling duties along with all-rounder Pandya when the team was performing well. "It's not too hard if your team is doing well," added Shami, underlining the importance of supporting teammates.
Captain Rohit Sharma (36) expressed his satisfaction with Shami's immediate impact, saying, "Shami took his opportunity with both hands.
He is a class player with a wealth of experience, and I am very happy for him."As a result of this victory, India stands as the sole unbeaten team in the tournament and leads the race for the four semi-final spots.
New Zealand, on the other hand, experienced their first defeat in Dharamsala.
Rohit's team is scheduled to face England in Lucknow next Sunday, while New Zealand will play against Australia in Dharamsala a day earlier.
