Spaniard MotoGP rider Rins extends Yamaha deal until 2026

Spaniard Alex Rins, aged 28, has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Yamaha MotoGP Team, ensuring his presence for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. This announcement was made by the Japanese manufacturer on Thursday.

Rins, who has secured victory in six MotoGP races, made the switch to Yamaha from LCR Honda at the start of the 2024 season. He will continue to be teammates with Fabio Quartararo, who also recently extended his contract until 2026.

Yamaha's managing director, Lin Jarvis, praised Rins, highlighting his exceptional riding skills, technical knowledge, strong work ethic, and team-oriented attitude.

Jarvis expressed confidence in the collaboration between Rins and Quartararo, emphasizing their ability to contribute to the development of Yamaha's racing bikes.

Rins had surgery on his wrist and ankle following an accident at the Dutch GP, however, he is set to make his comeback at the British GP this weekend.
