Sri Lanka wicketkeeper Dickwella suspended for doping violation

Niroshan Dickwella, the wicketkeeper-batsman for Sri Lanka, has been placed under indefinite suspension due to a reported doping infraction, as announced by the national governing body, Sri Lanka Cricket.
The Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, adhering to World Anti-Doping Agency protocols, conducted a doping test during the Lanka Premier League, which Dickwella did not pass.
According to a statement released by Sri Lanka Cricket on Friday, "The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice."
Dickwella serves as the captain of the Galle Marvels in the Lanka Premier League and has represented Sri Lanka as a wicketkeeper across all formats, with his most recent appearance for the national team occurring during a test series against New Zealand in Christchurch in March of the previous year.
In June 2021, he faced a one-year suspension, along with Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka, for violating the team's COVID-19 bio-secure bubble during Sri Lanka's tour of England.
