Stephen Curry Drops 37 as Warriors Outgun LeBron’s Lakers

Stephen Curry delivered another masterclass, scoring 37 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a hard-fought 123-116 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. The win pushes Golden State to fifth in the Western Conference standings with a 45-31 record and strengthens their bid for an automatic NBA Playoff spot.

Coming off a sensational 52-point performance against Memphis, Curry once again turned up the heat in the third quarter, hitting clutch shots to pull the game away from the Lakers. “We know every game matters down the stretch,” Curry told TNT. “The intensity has been crazy — but that’s what you love.

Brandin Podziemski was equally lethal, hitting eight-of-10 from beyond the arc to finish with a career-high 28 points, fueling the Warriors to their fourth consecutive win.

The Lakers, led by LeBron James’ 33 points, put up a strong fight in the final quarter, with Austin Reaves adding 31 points, including nine three-pointers. But Golden State’s offensive firepower proved too much to handle.

Western Conference Playoff Race Heats Up

Thursday’s win keeps Golden State firmly in the top-six battle, now just a game behind the Lakers (46-30) and Denver Nuggets (47-30). With just a few games left, the playoff picture is anything but certain, as six teams remain in contention for four automatic spots.

Elsewhere in the Western Conference:

  • Ja Morant lifted the Memphis Grizzlies past the Miami Heat with a buzzer-beating winner, sealing a 110-108 victory. Morant scored 30 points — 27 in the second half — and said the hostile Miami crowd "woke him up".
  • Minnesota Timberwolves overcame an ankle scare to Anthony Edwards to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 105-90. Edwards returned in the second half and led all scorers with 28 points.

Giannis Dominates as Bucks Stay Strong in the East

In the East, Giannis Antetokounmpo turned in a monstrous triple-double to lead the Milwaukee Bucks past the Philadelphia 76ers 126-113. The Greek Freak dropped 35 points, 17 rebounds, and 20 assists, keeping the Bucks in fifth place at 42-34.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers exited the game due to illness, leaving assistant Darvin Ham to take the reins. “Next man up,” Ham said. “That’s why you build a good crew.”
