Jordan Addison caught seven passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns to help the Minnesota Vikings beat the San Francisco 49ers 22-17 on Monday night in Minneapolis.

Kirk Cousins completed 35 of 45 passes for 378 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception for Minnesota (3-4). T.J. Hockenson led all receivers with 11 catches for 86 yards.

Christian McCaffrey scored once on the ground and once through the air as San Francisco (5-2) lost its second straight game. Brock Purdy completed 21 of 30 passes for 272 yards, one touchdown, and two picks.

Purdy was intercepted twice by Vikings safety Camryn Bynum, including a leaping interception in the final minute to seal the victory.

McCaffrey became the first player in NFL history to score at least one touchdown from scrimmage in 16 consecutive games, including playoffs. He began Monday in a four-way tie with Baltimore's Lenny Moore, Buffalo's O.J. Simpson, and Washington's John Riggins.

Minnesota scored first with 4:48 remaining in the first quarter. Cousins hit Addison for a 20-yard touchdown pass after finding a gap in the 49ers' coverage.

Greg Joseph's 21-yard field goal midway through the second quarter extended the Vikings' lead to 10-0.

With 1:01 remaining in the second quarter, McCaffrey's historic touchdown cut San Francisco's deficit to 10-7. He ran through a crowded line of scrimmage for a 3-yard touchdown.

Addison scored his second touchdown of the night and sixth of his rookie season with a highlight-reel reception.

Cousins underthrew a deep ball that appeared to be intercepted by 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward on the play. However, as Ward approached with the ball, Addison reached in and ripped the ball from the defender's hands. Addison then dashed downfield for a 60-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 16-7.

Midway through the third quarter, Joseph's 20-yard field goal made it 19-7 Vikings.

McCaffrey scored again, bringing the 49ers to within 19-14 with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter. He took off for a 35-yard touchdown after catching a swing pass near the right sideline.

Late in the third quarter, Joseph's 54-yard field goal gave the Vikings a 22-14 lead.

San Francisco responded with a 55-yard field goal by Jake Moody on the next possession to pull within 22-17
