Suns to be without Durant for at least a week following left ankle injury

Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant has sustained a sprained left ankle and is expected to be sidelined for the upcoming week of the NBA season, pending reevaluation, as reported by multiple sources on Wednesday.

The injury occurred during the second quarter of Tuesday's 104-93 win against San Antonio, when Durant inadvertently landed on the foot of Julian Champagnie of the Spurs.

According to reports from ESPN and the Arizona Republic, Durant will be unavailable for the games against New Orleans, Miami, and Orlando before his reassessment next week.

Durant, a two-time NBA champion, has been averaging 25.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists for the Suns this season. He previously missed 11 days last month due to a left calf strain.

Currently, the Suns hold a record of 12-8, placing them sixth in the Western Conference. Their performance reflects an impressive 11-2 record with Durant on the court, contrasting sharply with a 1-6 record in his absence.

The 36-year-old American player was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2014 and has been selected as an NBA All-Star 14 times, in addition to being a two-time MVP of both the NBA Finals and the NBA All-Star Game.
