Super Falcons Forward Rasheedat Ajibade signs for PSG

Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade has completed a high-profile move to Paris Saint-Germain Féminines, signing a deal that runs until June 30, 2027. The transfer marks another major step in her career and strengthens PSG’s attacking options ahead of the new French women’s football season.
Ajibade joins PSG after Spanish success
Ajibade arrives in Paris after four and a half seasons with Atletico Madrid Femenino, where she became a key figure. The 25-year-old forward scored 40 goals in 139 appearances for the Spanish side, helping them secure the 2021 Spanish Super Cup and the 2023 Copa de la Reina.
Her final season in Spain saw her contribute eight goals and three assists in 25 matches, underlining her consistency at the top level.

“A Major Step” in Her Career
Nicknamed “Mummy G.O.” by fans, Ajibade expressed her excitement at joining one of Europe’s elite clubs.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe,” she told PSG’s official website. “This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”
She will also team up with fellow Nigerian star Jennifer Echegini, adding an extra layer of excitement for Nigerian supporters following the French league.
Fresh from WAFCON Glory
Ajibade’s move comes only weeks after she captained the Super Falcons to their record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph. The forward not only lifted the trophy but was also named Player of the Tournament, cementing her reputation as one of Africa’s finest talents.
She now carries that momentum to Paris, where PSG are aiming to challenge Lyon for domestic supremacy and make a deeper run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Born in Mushin, Lagos, on December 8, 1999, Ajibade’s football journey has taken her from FC Robo Queens in Nigeria to Norway’s Avaldsnes IL, then onto Atletico Madrid, and now PSG. Her international career continues to grow as well. She represented Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the Falcons reached the round of 16, and also featured in the 2024 Paris Olympics women’s football tournament.
