Sweden cruise to 3-0 win in Women's Euro qualifer against Ireland

Sweden won 3-0 away to Ireland in their Euro 2025 Group A3 qualifier on Friday, with the two teams meeting again in Stockholm in four days. Johanna Rytting Kaneryd scored twice and Fridolina Rolfo once.

Rytting Kaneryd opened the scoring in the 26th minute, and Rolfo, who won the Champions League with Barcelona last Saturday, doubled the lead after 66 minutes with a brilliant curled effort.

The Irish, ranked 25th in the world compared to Sweden's sixth, put the visitors under enormous physical pressure at times, but despite some decent chances, they failed to register their first goal of the campaign, and Rytting Kaneryd scored the third goal to seal the victory in the 86th minute.

France lead the group with nine points from three games after defeating reigning champions England 2-1 away. England have four points and trail second-place Sweden on goal difference. Ireland are currently at the bottom of the table, with no points.

The top two teams will automatically advance to the finals.
