Swiatek wins back-to-back WTA Player of the Year

Swiatek secured her third French Open title, elevating her Grand Slam count to four. She capped off the year by seizing her inaugural WTA Finals championship and reclaiming the top ranking spot, previously briefly held by Aryna Sabalenka.

The Polish player, triumphing in six tournaments, made history as the first athlete since Serena Williams (2012-2015) to earn consecutive WTA Player of the Year honors.

Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens were honored as the Doubles Team of the Year, while Zheng Qinwen from China earned the Most Improved Player title. Russian newcomer Mirra Andreeva clinched the Newcomer of the Year award.

Elina Svitolina, returning to the court in April following a maternity hiatus, was celebrated as the Comeback Player of the Year.

Her impressive performance included reaching the quarter-finals at Roland Garros and matching her best Grand Slam result by advancing to the Wimbledon semi-finals.
