Tanzania coach to be suspended for the remainder of AFCON after insulting Morocco

Adel Amrouche, the coach of Tanzania, has been handed a suspension during the Africa Cup of Nations finals due to his derogatory comments about Morocco. The East African team suffered a 3-0 defeat against Morocco in their first match of the tournament on Wednesday.
The Tanzania Football Federation has announced that coach Amrouche has been suspended as a result of a complaint filed by Morocco.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) disciplinary committee has imposed an eight-match suspension on Amrouche. However, CAF has not yet made an official announcement regarding this matter.
In light of the suspension, Hemed Morocco has been appointed as the acting coach, with Juma Mgunda assisting him, according to TFF spokesman Clifford Mario Ndimbo.
Amrouche had previously expressed concerns about Morocco's influence in African football, claiming that they have control over referee appointments.
He also mentioned that during a World Cup qualifier match against Morocco, they had requested to play in the afternoon due to the advantage of the daytime heat in Dar es Salaam.
However, CAF scheduled the match for the evening, which disadvantaged Tanzania. Amrouche also criticized his own federation for changing their pre-tournament preparation camp, stating that they were influenced to relocate from Algeria to Cairo.
This incident highlights the political rivalry between Algeria and Morocco, which extends to the realm of African football. Both countries were competing against each other to host the next Cup of Nations tournament.
