Taysom Hill is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL

The versatile Taysom Hill (34) has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL and additional injuries sustained during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The severe knee injury occurred late in the fourth quarter during a designed run play for Hill, which was part of a drive that had the potential to tie the game for the Saints. Ultimately, New Orleans lost the contest 21-14, bringing their season record to 4-8.

"It's the worst," remarked teammate Derek Carr following the game. "As a brother and a friend, it transcends football at that moment."

Hill concludes his season with 187 receiving yards on 23 catches, alongside 278 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns from 39 attempts. He has also completed two of four passes this season for 21 yards, with one interception.

As one of the most adaptable players in the NFL, Hill has one year remaining on his contract before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2026. However, there are concerns regarding whether he will retire before then, given that this marks his fifth season-ending injury since his college days at BYU.

According to Draft Sharks, this incident represents Hill's 18th injury throughout his football career.
