Tiger Woods ends 20 years partnership with Nike

Since 1996, Woods has served as a brand ambassador for Nike, signing a lucrative five-year, $40 million contract when he turned professional at the age of 20. This marked the beginning of one of the most profitable endorsement deals in the history of sports.

After a seven-month injury hiatus, the 48-year-old Woods made a comeback to competitive golf in late November. In his statement, he concluded with the phrase "See you in LA!", indicating his intention to participate in the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club from February 15-18.

"On X, formerly Twitter," Woods wrote, "I was fortunate to initiate a partnership with one of the world's most iconic brands over 27 years ago. Since then, I have experienced countless incredible moments and memories. If I were to list them all, it would be an endless endeavor."

Woods expressed his personal gratitude to Phil Knight, the visionary behind Nike and Nike Golf, as well as the dedicated Nike employees and exceptional athletes he had the privilege of collaborating with throughout his journey.

The question arises as to whether there will be another chapter in Woods' career. His response is clear: "Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!"

Throughout his illustrious career, Woods signed multiple deals with Nike, including a 10-year agreement in 2013 that was reportedly valued at $200 million.

Nike also confirmed the conclusion of their partnership through a social media post, featuring Woods celebrating with his trademark fist pump and wearing his iconic red top during the final round. The post read, "It was a remarkable round, Tiger."
