Torino 0-3 Inter Milan: Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez on target as visitors go top

Inter Milan won their fifth consecutive Serie A away game, 3-0 over Torino, thanks to goals from Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martnez.

The victory propels Simone Inzaghi's side to the top of Serie A, as they have won seven of their first nine league games.

Following a frustrating draw against Bologna prior to the international break, Inter travelled to Turin knowing a positive response was required against a goal-shy Torino side.

The Nerazzurri showed early promise, with Vanja Milinkovic-Savic diving low to save from Thuram. However, the hosts largely stifled Inter, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances.

After an uneventful first half-hour, Simone Inzaghi's men continued to press for a breakthrough, but it was Yann Sommer who came to the visitors' rescue, standing tall to deny Demba Seck's powerful strike before denying Pietro Pellegri from inside the six-yard box.

Inter, grateful for their goalkeeper's heroics, attempted to retake control with the interval approaching, but Torino held firm to go into the break level.

Ivan Juri's side knew the importance of keeping it tight in the early stages of the second half after failing to find the net in their previous three SA outings.

However, Inter capitalized on their pressure with a deserved opener shortly before the hour mark, as Thuram swept a clinical finish into the bottom corner after good work from Denzel Dumfries.

With the momentum, the Nerazzurri doubled their lead eight minutes later thanks to talisman Martnez, who headed home Francesco Acerbi's flick-on inside the box.

With a two-goal deficit, a comeback from the struggling hosts seemed unlikely, and so it proved, as the visitors added late gloss to the scoreline when Hakan Calhanoglu converted from the penalty spot, securing a convincing three points with extra panache.
