Tottenham 1-2 Leicester City: Foxes comeback to defeat Spurs and end losing streak

Leicester City ended their seven-match Premier League losing streak with a vital 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, further deepening the home side’s struggles under manager Ange Postecoglou.
Despite Tottenham taking a deserved first-half lead through Richarlison’s 33rd-minute header, Leicester turned the game around in the second half. Goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss within four minutes sealed only their second away win of the season.
The victory lifted Leicester out of the relegation zone into 17th place, with 17 points from 23 matches. Tottenham, now with just one win in their last 11 league games, sits in 15th place, eight points clear of the drop zone.
A gloomy atmosphere enveloped the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the rain mirrored the fans' discontent. Supporters directed their anger at chairman Daniel Levy, chanting, “We want Levy out,” while the team suffered its fourth successive league defeat.
Postecoglou, facing increasing scrutiny, expressed his frustration after the match.
“Yeah, it hurts. It hurts a lot. The players gave everything again. We are going to look at a lot of things, but in terms of effort, I can’t ask any more of this group. Things just didn’t go our way today,” he said.
Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy enjoyed a much-needed win, marking only his second league victory since taking charge in December. Veteran striker Jamie Vardy highlighted the significance of the result.
“It is big, hopefully, it stops the rot we have been in,” Vardy said. “The lads battled through for 90 minutes, and it is credit to the manager for what he’s been doing on the training pitch.”
Tottenham appeared poised to turn a corner after Richarlison expertly headed home a Pedro Porro cross. However, their defensive frailties were exposed early in the second half.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s byline cross found Vardy, who equalized for Leicester. Moments later, El Khannouss was given too much space in midfield, calmly slotting a clinical finish past goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to give Leicester the lead.
Tottenham’s confidence crumbled, and Vardy nearly added a third for the visitors. Pedro Porro’s late free-kick rattled the woodwork, but Leicester ultimately deserved the three points.
Leicester’s win offers them a much-needed lifeline in their relegation battle, while Tottenham faces mounting pressure to turn their season around. Can Leicester build on this momentum, and will Postecoglou find a way to steer Spurs back on track?
