After facing defensive challenges in recent matches, Tottenham found solace in Cristian Romero's return from a three-match suspension.
Surprisingly, Romero, the Argentine center-back, left his defensive domain and made a mark in the West Ham box, scoring a crucial header in the 11th minute.
Despite Spurs' attempts to secure a second goal, West Ham, revitalized in the second half, equalized with Jarrod Bowen confidently finding the net.
Substitutions by Ange Postecoglou couldn't salvage the situation, and a defensive error allowed James Ward-Prowse to secure a comeback win for West Ham, leaving Spurs winless in five matches and in sixth position.
