Tottenham complete loan signing of Timo Werner from Leipzig until end of season

Werner has made his comeback to the English top division after spending two years playing for Chelsea.

During his time at Chelsea, he managed to make 89 appearances and scored 23 goals, contributing to the team's victorious campaigns in the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and the Club World Cup.

However, in 2022, the German international decided to return to his former club, Leipzig. Unfortunately, he has only appeared in eight Bundesliga matches so far this season.

Considering the absence of Son Heung-min, Tottenham Hotspur's leading scorer, due to his participation in the Asian Cup for South Korea, Werner could be a valuable addition to provide an alternative up front for the team.

Currently, Spurs occupy the fifth position in the Premier League standings with a total of 39 points.

However, they are trailing behind the league leaders, Liverpool, by six points.
