Tottenham ease past woeful Manchester United as Bruno Fernandes sees Red

The match began with Spurs displaying an aggressive approach, which paid off in the third minute. Micky van de Ven initiated a dynamic run from his own half, culminating in a precise pass to Brennan Johnson, who finished expertly at the back post.
James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski showcased excellent synergy shortly thereafter, although Maddison's attempt was thwarted by Andre Onana, and Destiny Udogie sent a shot over the bar as United found it challenging to cope with the visitors' pressure.
Johnson nearly doubled the lead, striking the post following another rapid Spurs counterattack. Shortly after, Kobbie Mainoo set up Joshua Zirkzee, whose shot was met with a remarkable save from Guglielmo Vicario. Nevertheless, Spurs continued to threaten, with Cristian Romero's acrobatic attempt narrowly missing the target.
United had their moments as well; Marcus Rashford's cross reached Alejandro Garnacho, who struck the post with a powerful volley. Timo Werner squandered a chance for United with a weak shot after breaking through the defense. The situation worsened for the home side before halftime when Bruno Fernandes received a red card for a foul on Maddison, marking him as the fourth United captain to be dismissed in a Premier League match at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag made an immediate substitution followed by another before the match resumed, yet these changes proved ineffective. Tottenham Hotspur mirrored their earlier performance by scoring within three minutes of the second half, as Johnson advanced and delivered a pass that was deflected off De Ligt, allowing Kulusevski to skillfully finish.
Onana subsequently executed a remarkable double save to deny both Werner and Dominic Solanke, but Lisandro Martinez was unable to convert his opportunity, sending his shot wide as the Red Devils demonstrated they still possessed some determination.
Casemiro came closer to scoring from a narrow angle, while Romero deflected Garnacho’s attempt behind, prompting the Stretford End to rally in support.
However, any remaining hope was extinguished in the 78th minute when Lucas Bergvall and Pape Matar Sarr entered the fray and quickly set up a chance that Solanke converted.
This goal secured Tottenham's fourth consecutive victory, a feat they had not achieved since last October, following a season start where they managed only one win in their first four matches.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will be seeking a similar revival after experiencing their third consecutive match without a win, leaving them with a mere two Premier League victories this season and positioned in the lower half of the standings.
