Tunisia 0-1 Namibia: Brave Warriors stun Tunisia to snatch first-ever Africa Cup of Nations win

Namibia achieved their inaugural triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals following a last-minute strike by Deon Hotto (33), propelling them to a remarkable 1-0 win against Tunisia in Korhogo.
Despite the significant gap of 87 places in the FIFA rankings between the two nations, the initial exchanges of the match were closely contested, with both teams creating several opportunities at either end of the pitch.
Tunisia had the first threatening chance through Taha Yassine Khenissi, but his close-range header was saved by Lloyd Kazapua. Namibia also came close to scoring, but Peter Shalulile missed a good opportunity when well-positioned in the box.
After a frantic first 15 minutes, it was surprisingly the 115th-ranked Brave Warriors who took control of the game, dominating possession in the final third. However, despite their attacking intent, clear-cut chances were scarce, as the Tunisian defense held strong and kept the score level going into halftime.
Determined to improve on their lackluster first-half performance, Tunisia started the second half on the offensive. Youssef Msakni had a near-post header brilliantly saved by Kazapua.
Undeterred, Namibia came close to scoring themselves just minutes later, but Montassar Talbi deflected the ball around the post to deny Shalulile's goal-bound effort.
The match remained evenly poised as it entered the final half-hour, with both Msakni and Elias Achouri squandering good opportunities for Tunisia.
However, those missed chances proved costly, as Namibia secured a historic victory with a headed goal from an unmarked Hotto, courtesy of a superb cross from Bethuel Muzeu, just two minutes before the final whistle.
Tunisia will now be eager to bounce back and return to winning ways in their second group game against Mali on Saturday.
