UCL: Galatasaray stages late Rally to secure 2-2 draw against 10-Man FC Copenhagen

In an exhilarating Champions League clash, Galatasaray mounted a thrilling late comeback, scoring twice from the 86th minute onwards, to clinch a dramatic 2-2 draw against a 10-man FC Copenhagen side. This encounter unfolded in a challenging group featuring heavyweights Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
In a breathtaking finale at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex, Galatasaray exhibited remarkable resilience as Sacha Boey ignited their fightback by slamming a shot into the roof of the net, narrowing the deficit. Subsequently, substitute Tete contributed to the late heroics, volleying home a cross from Wilfried Zaha with his left foot from the edge of the area, sneaking it inside the near post in the 88th minute.
Copenhagen, in their second consecutive Champions League season, had coped admirably until defender Elias Jelert received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 73rd minute, a turning point in the match. Captain Rasmus Falk expressed his frustration, saying, "We had it all under control, and then we got a red card."
The Danish champions initially seized the lead when Mohamed Elyounoussi expertly chested down the ball and unleashed a powerful shot in the 35th minute. Diogo Gonçalves added to their tally in the 58th minute after Copenhagen successfully exploited the offside trap.
Despite falling behind, Galatasaray, returning to the Champions League for the first time since 2019, brought a six-game winning streak into the match and created several scoring opportunities. Kerem Aktürkoğlu struck the crossbar with a fierce shot, and Mauro Icardi was denied by a well-executed save as the striker sought his ninth goal in as many matches this season. This captivating draw sets the stage for an exciting journey for both teams in a challenging group.
