Unai Emery extends contract with Aston Villa until 2027

Unai Emery, the head coach of Aston Villa, has recently signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2027.
According to The Athletic, Emery is content with his position at Villa and there are discussions planned with the club to further extend his contract in the near future, possibly as early as this summer.
The owners of Villa, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, are delighted with the 52-year-old Spanish coach and view him as their own version of the legendary Manchester United manager,
Sir Alex Ferguson. This contract extension is a positive development for Villa, especially considering Emery's impressive performance this season, which has attracted interest from several other clubs.
Currently sitting in fourth place in the Premier League, Villa is in a strong position to secure a spot in the Champions League and has also made it to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.
Emery took charge of Villa in October 2022, succeeding Steven Gerrard after leading Villarreal to victory in the Europa League that same year.
Villa's next Premier League match will be against Chelsea on Saturday, followed by a European fixture against Olympiacos the following Thursday.
