The action continued in the NBA In-Season Tournament matchup on Tuesday night, as the Utah Jazz secured a convincing 115-99 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, with standout performances from Jordan Clarkson and Lauri Markkanen. Clarkson showcased his scoring prowess by contributing 30 points, while Markkanen added 21 points and an impressive nine rebounds to the winning effort.

The Jazz's well-rounded performance also featured noteworthy contributions from John Collins, who recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kelly Olynyk made a significant impact with 12 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Keyonte George and Collin Sexton added to the team's success, contributing 15 and 13 points, respectively, with both players dishing out seven assists each.

Utah's victory marked their second consecutive win in the tournament, showcasing their resilience and tenacious defense. The team excelled defensively, amassing a season-high 11 steals and consistently disrupting the Blazers' offensive rhythm at crucial junctures throughout the game.

Jazz coach Will Hardy attributed the team's success to their increased activity and proactive approach on the defensive end, emphasizing the importance of speed in their strategy.

Meanwhile, Portland, facing their fourth straight loss overall, moved to a 1-1 record in West Group A play.

The individual performances for Portland included Jerami Grant leading the team with 26 points, Deandre Ayton contributing 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Shaedon Sharpe finishing with 17 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Skylar Mays facilitated the offense with a game-high 10 assists.

Clarkson set the tone for Utah early in the game with a flawless shooting performance, going 6 for 6 from the floor and accumulating 14 points in the first quarter alone. The Jazz capitalized on Portland's turnovers, scoring 16 points off 12 turnovers in the first half.

The Blazers attempted a comeback in the third quarter, with Grant and Ayton leading the charge and cutting Utah's lead to 87-84. However, Clarkson's timely baskets thwarted any attempts by the Trail Blazers to seize control.

The Jazz sealed the victory in the fourth quarter, as Markkanen fueled a decisive 13-0 run, pushing Utah ahead 108-93 with 5:40 remaining. This win marked a milestone for the Jazz, as they held their opponent to under 100 points for the first time under Coach Hardy, ending a streak of 92 games dating back to April 2022.

Looking ahead, the Trail Blazers will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, while the Jazz are set to face the Phoenix Suns on Friday in another tournament game.
