UWCL: Lyon fight back to defeat PSG 3-2 in Women's Champions League semi-final first leg

In their first leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final, Lyon staged an impressive comeback to secure a 3-2 victory against Paris St Germain.

Lyon, the most successful club in the competition's history with eight titles, started strongly and applied significant pressure.

However, PSG managed to absorb the pressure comfortably and capitalized on their chances with two quick goals.

PSG's Marie-Antoinette Katoto broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, taking advantage of Lyon defender Ellie Carpenter's lapse in concentration.

Despite losing her balance, Katoto found the net with a powerful low drive. Just three minutes into the second half, Katoto struck again, doubling PSG's lead after being played onside by Selma Bacha.

Lyon responded strongly to the setback, but it wasn't until the 80th minute that they managed to pull a goal back. Kadidiatou Diani skillfully toe-poked the ball into the bottom-left corner, setting the stage for an intense finish.

Five minutes later, Lyon leveled the score as Melchie Dumornay curled an exceptional effort into the top corner. And in the following minute, substitute Amel Majri secured the winning goal with a superb turn and shot.

In the earlier semi-final match, Chelsea achieved a remarkable 1-0 victory against Barcelona, with Erin Cuthbert scoring the only goal of the game in the 40th minute.

This defeat marked Barcelona's first loss of the season. Chelsea will host Barcelona for the second leg at Stamford Bridge next Saturday, while Lyon will travel to PSG on Sunday for the second leg of their tie.
