UWCL Round-up: Madrid hold Chelsea in controversial draw; Ajax stun PSG; Roma deny Bayern

Ajax made an excellent UEFA Women's Champions League group stage debut with a win over Paris Saint-Germain on a night when Roma came back from two goals down to draw with Bayern München, Chelsea were denied maximum points at Real Madrid, and Häcken won at Paris FC.
Here is what went down
Real Madrid 2-2 Chelsea
Scorers: Carmona 10′, 79′ (P); Charles 41′, Kerr 74′
The biggest game of the day saw Real Madrid host Chelsea, and boy did this match deliver.
The deadlock was broken less than 10 minutes in when Olga Carmona struck from range, wrong-footing Ann-Katrin Berger after a deflection off Millie Bright.
However, as soon as the hosts scored, the visitors piled on the pressure. Sam Kerr, the Australian striker, was as lively as ever, but Misa, the goalkeeper, kept her at bay.
It wasn't until just before halftime that the Blues equalized, when the on-rushing Niamh Charles connected with Ashley Lawrence's perfect cross.
The second half remained tense as true chances were few and far between. Kerr remained lively, but couldn't find a way through for the visitors. Meanwhile, Madrid's shots-on-target record remained at one.
Given Chelsea's pressure, it was inevitable that Kerr would put them ahead. On the left wing, Charles turned provider, and it was a perfect cross.
Five minutes later, there was controversy when Jessie Fleming committed a foul outside the box, but the referee pointed to the spot, giving Madrid a lifeline.
Carmona made no mistake, scoring the equalizer from the ensuing penalty.
Chelsea pushed for the winner and may have thought they had won when Charles made a late run from midfield to score from a Bright delivery in the 95th minute, only to be denied by another controversial decision.
Paris FC 1-2 Häcken
Scorers: Dufor 59′ (P); Krafaji 29′, Sandberg 56′
BK Häcken edged out Paris FC on the road thanks to clinical finishing.
The hosts had more possession and shots (21 to seven), but the visitors put almost all of their efforts on target (six of seven).
Rosa Kafaji was played into the box and remained composed to scoop the ball past goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie to break the deadlock.
After the break, Häcken doubled their lead through Anna Sandberg, who pulled off a brilliant first touch and volleyed home.
Three minutes later, Julie Dufour converted a penalty and Paris FC pulled one back. Despite their dominance, they were unable to equalize.
Bayern 2-2 Roma
Scorers: Damnjanović 20′, Linari 45+4′ (OG); Viens 58′, Giugliano 90′
In Germany, Bayern Munich welcomed Roma to town for an entertaining match.
Following action at both ends in the first half, some sloppy defending resulted in the opening goal, as Jovana Damnjanovi's header beat the ball-watching visitors and trickled into the net.
Another Roma gaffe allowed the hosts to double their lead. Elena Linari hip-checked the ball past her goalkeeper after Katharina Elisa Naschenweng's long-range strike deflected off two defenders.
Bayern, on the other hand, became the ones to pay for their errors in the second half.
Georgia Stanway's pass was easily intercepted, and striker Évelyne Viens was played into the box before finding the far post. The visitors increased the pressure, and the hosts crumbled in the closing minutes.
Maria Luisa Grohs saved Manuela Giugliano's initial shot, but she pounced on the rebound from a tight angle to tie the game.
Ajax 2-0 Paris Saint-Germain
Scorers: Hoekstra 34′, Spitse 45+1′ (P)
Ajax stunned Paris Saint-Germain despite having less control of the game over 90 minutes in Amsterdam.
Tiny Hoekstra scored her first-ever UWCL goal for Ajax from an incredibly tight angle in the first-ever competition match at Johan Cruyff Arena.
The visitors' mistake then allowed the hosts to double their lead when Clare Hunt fouled in the box and Sherida Spitse converted the resulting penalty.
PSG kept on pushing but none of their five shots on goal (out of 22) found the back of the net.
