Venezia promoted to Serie A with playoff final win over Cremonese

Venezia secured their spot in Serie A with a 1-0 victory over Cremonese in the playoff final second leg on Sunday.

The win came courtesy of a first-half goal by forward Christian Gytkjaer after a goalless draw in the first leg last Thursday.

This promotion marks Venezia's return to Serie A after spending two seasons in Serie B, being relegated in 2021-22.

They now join Parma and Como in the top flight after the two clubs secured promotion by finishing first and second in Serie B earlier in May.
