Victor Osimhen signs Napoli contact extension till 2026

Napoli announced on social media that Victor and Napoli will continue their partnership until 2026. The current African Best Footballer of the year signed a new deal with the club, as shown in the accompanying picture with club owner Aurelio De Laurentiis.

While the details of the contract have not been disclosed by Napoli, Italian media reports suggest that a release clause worth between 120 million and 130 million euros has been included to safeguard against losing their star player to Premier League clubs without receiving a substantial fee.

Osimhen's previous contract was set to expire in June 2025, and his renewal has been a prominent topic of discussion in Italy following Napoli's triumph in the league last season, their first in over three decades.

Under the guidance of former coach Luciano Spalletti, Osimhen scored 26 league goals, captivating Europe with Napoli's exhilarating style of play.

Since joining from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has scored a total of 67 goals in 118 appearances.

However, Napoli currently trail Serie A leaders Inter by 14 points and were recently eliminated from the Italian Cup by Frosinone.
