Vinicius Jr to sign new 5-year deal to stay at Real Madrid amid Saudi interest

Recent reports indicate that Vinicius Jr. is on the verge of finalizing a new five-year contract with Real Madrid, which will extend his stay at the club until the end of the decade, despite previous speculation about a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club that has attracted high-profile players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Vinicius, who has been with Real Madrid since 2018, has celebrated three La Liga titles, two Champions League victories, and two Club World Cup championships during his tenure.
Although his current contract runs until the conclusion of the 2026-27 season, the club has proactively engaged with his representatives to renegotiate terms and mitigate interest from Saudi clubs that has persisted for over a year.
According to recent reports from La Ser, Vinicius is poised to sign a new agreement with Los Blancos, ensuring his commitment to the team until the 2029/2030 season.
The young Brazilian has experienced a challenging season thus far, struggling to replicate the form that propelled him to a Ballon D’or runner-up position last year.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid finds itself seven points behind La Liga leaders and rivals Barcelona, having suffered a humiliating 5-1 aggregate defeat to Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
Despite these setbacks, Vinicius is committed to remaining with the club, having previously indicated his eagerness to renew his contract with the La Liga side 'as soon as possible,' subtly dismissing rumors of interest from the Saudi Pro League.
'I don’t know anything; nobody has spoken to me about a Saudi offer,' Vinicius Jr stated to reporters earlier this year. 'They need to talk to the president of Real.
I hope to stay here for a long time,' he added, following his performance as the match's standout player. The Brazilian, who was awarded the FIFA men’s player of the year for 2024, expressed that achieving success at Real Madrid has been a lifelong dream.
'It’s always thrilling to begin discussions regarding my renewal with Real Madrid. I have a contract until 2027, but I have consistently expressed my wish to play here for an extended period and to create a legacy.
