Vlahovic fires Juventus past Atalanta to win 15th Coppa Italia in Rome

Juventus clinched their 15th Coppa Italia title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Atalanta, courtesy of an early goal from Dusan Vlahovic.
Juventus holds the most Coppa Italia titles compared to any other team. They aimed to end their season on a high note by adding another trophy to their collection.
Right from the start, they took control of the game within just four minutes. Andrea Cambiaso delivered a perfectly timed pass that was received by Vlahovic. The Serbian player showcased his strength by fending off Isak Hien's challenge and successfully scored past Marco Carnesecchi.
This goal ignited the Juventus fans at the Stadio Olimpico, and they hoped to see their team maintain their dominance throughout the match.
However, Atalanta was determined not to make it easy for them. In the 12th minute, Mario Pasalic seized an opportunity from a misplaced pass by Samuel Iling Junior, but his attempt was thwarted by Mattia Perin. Shortly after the half-hour mark, Charles de Ketelaere unleashed a wild shot from the edge of the box that went over the goal.
De Ketelaere was substituted at halftime for El Bilal Toure, who showcased good ball control on the 50th minute. This allowed Ademola Lookman to take a long-range shot that narrowly missed the target after taking a deflection.
Tensions escalated seven minutes later when Berat Djimsiti continued playing despite Iling Junior being on the ground with a potential head injury. Djimsiti's cross found Teun Koopmeiners, who narrowly missed scoring with a header. Many Juventus players expected a whistle to be blown, expressing their discontent with Djimsiti's disregard for their injured teammate.
Juve had to endure a period of intense pressure from Atalanta but believed they had secured victory in the middle of the second half. However, Vlahovic's header was disallowed by the semi-automated offside system.
Prior to this, Vlahovic's shot was blocked by a combination of Carnesecchi and Marten De Roon, resulting in Atalanta's captain and key player limping off the field. This injury leaves Atalanta concerned about his fitness ahead of the UEFA Europa League final next week.
Juventus, however, held their ground to secure their first title since their encounter in the 2021 Coppa Italia final.
Atalanta will aim to recover swiftly, with an undefeated Bayer 04 Leverkusen team waiting for them in the Europa League final.
