WBC chief expels boxer Ryan Garcia after racist social media rant

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced on X that Ryan Garcia has been expelled from participating in any events organized by the global boxing body due to his recent racist remarks on social media.

Sulaiman stated, "Exercising my authority as president of the WBC, I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organisation.

We reject any form of discrimination and have made multiple attempts to offer him help with mental health and substance abuse."

In addition to the WBC's ban, Garcia is currently serving a one-year ban from the New York State Athletic Commission for failing a drug test, and he also faces felony vandalism charges for causing significant damage at a hotel in Beverly Hills.
